MSE Party

Sunday, August 3rd, 2008

Today we got up a little later then usually. The reason for this was a party we attended.
Darpan a MSE student, who already finished the first year, invited us to his place to celebrate goodbye for students of the MSE and MSE-IT Program which will finish their program next week.
We arrived at 9 o’clock and had a warm welcome even though we knew only a few people by now. I met people from all over the world (Chile, China, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, India, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan). Some of them even brought their own food. Many people from the program were there and I had some informative chats about the program and they gave me also tips for finding a suitable apartment. So now I look back at a nice party which was absolutely worth to give away some hours of sleep…

Thanks for the invitation Darpan!

The last party in Switzerland

Sunday, August 3rd, 2008

I am little behind with blogging…
Even though I am already in America, I will post about the last party I attended in Switzerland.

On Saturday, the 26th of July, Marcel and I went to Gruesch to participate at a big GOA party in the Mountains of Switzerland. When we arrived at the train station in Gruesch, we had to look for the base station of the cable car first. Not to believe that there was/is no sign at the train station especially because it is a well known ski area. It was even more difficult because it was already dark (22:00). Atmosphere 1

Finally, when we found the base station we had to pass a security check to go into the gondola. The staff told us in contrary to the webpage that we were not allowed to bring cans with us. The logical conclusion was that we drank our beer before we went on the gondola. A few minutes later we were on the cable car up to the party location on nearly 2000m above sea level. After this annoying start it got better and better. The climax of this night was definitely the live act from the band called S.U.N. Project which they call rock-trance-show.
Another highlight was the fire show, which was really impressive.

I am sure that this was not the last Atmosphere I attended!

USA Ahoi!

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008

Thanks to David I do not have to write a lot about our travel to America. I think he has pretty much covered everything in his post!

So finally there is only one thing to mention. When we arrived at Pittsburgh Airport I noticed that one of my bags looked horrible. Everywhere were scratches and I found 2 holes in the bag (about 3×3mm). I was even more surprised when I opened the bag. Everything was upside down and unwrapped and everywhere were crumbs. Then I found a notice from the security check informing me that they inspected my luggage :-/

Finally, at the hotel I found out what caused the chaos. Last week I received a pack of “Pettit Beurre” which I just packed in the bag without thinking. You can imagine the rest! After I found out that they did not take anything away I was relieved! Crumbs
