University of Florida

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

I received another email of acceptance from the University of Florida.
Funny about this admission information was that I first received a reminder to report my decision to the University and one hour later I received the mail with the congratulation and the admission information.

Slowly I get used to be accepted =)

Stolen!

Monday, April 28th, 2008

Tonight when I got back to the bicycle station my bike was gone! I could not believe it! Someone stole my bike. “Das verdammte Arschloch!”
I’m really upset! Even though it was an older model I still liked it and for me it is the most comfortable way to go to the train station. From tomorrow on I will have to travel by bus again :(

The Man from Earth

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

I just saw “The Man from Earth” what a mind blowing film. Wau!
The production is kept very simple. Most of the movie is shoot around or in a country house. I guess about 75% of the movie takes place in the living room. So there is not much action going on, nevertheless it is very exciting. The story of the entire film is about the main actor which claimed to be a man from the Upper Palaeolithic and therefore about 16′000 years old. Most of the time the actors are just talking if this is possible or not and how they/he could prove it. Many times it gets highly philosophical.
But I will not tell more about it… watch it your self!

My final opinion: A very good movie with an absolute brilliant story. I love it! :D

What a day!

At lunch I got a message from my brother that the new Lenovo laptop has arrived at home ;-)
When I arrived at home after the training I saw the package. Although I had paid half a fortune I started to feel happy. With this positive feeling I checked my mail as always when I get home. One of them said:

Congratulations! It is my great pleasure to inform you that you have been admitted to Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) to begin your Master of Science in Computer Science in the 2008 fall term. Your official admission letter will be mailed soon, if you have not already received it.

It is already the third school which accepted me =)

So now I have to configure my laptop…

Anneau du Rhin

Friday, April 18th, 2008

Today I went on the racing track Anneau du Rhin with the organisation Discover the Bike. I look back at a day full of fun and great experiences. I have improved my biking-skills and am now a better driver. Or at least I will have more reserves if something unforeseen will happen on a daily trip. It was a very exhausting day so I am too tired to write more… =)

Finally, I got rid of the border of fear (the unused part of the tire). See the picture. Angst Rand

BTW: more pictures will follow

New York University

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

Today I received the news of my acceptance to the MS (Master of Science) program in Computer Science at the New York University. Once more I feel happy and satisfied! Would it not be great to be a part of the “big apple” for some time of my life? I have heard a lot of NY and it would be a very interesting place to do my graduate study if I had not already made up my mind:
I will go for the Master of Software Engineering at the Carnegie Mellon University.

But after the refusal from Harvard University it is pleasant to receive another acceptance. With this second admission I know that it was not pure luck or misinterpretation that I got into the MSE Program. :D

I hate those bastards!

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

Last Monday I had to bring my SuperDuke (see the picture of the motorcycle in the header) to the service in the evening. Therefore I went to work by bike or at least I tried. First all went fine and then suddenly on the streets was snow and slobber. It was hard and awkward to drive with these unpleasant conditions. I decided to leave my motorcycle in Wetzikon at the train station and go to work by train. In the afternoon when I got back to my bike I noticed that someone had stolen my fall protection of the bike. I really got upset, because I’m sure who ever this had been he did it only for fun. Because the mounting for the protectors where still there. So it is definitely useless. Moreover it is a special construction for a SuperDuke.
I can not understand why people do stuff like this…? Did they observe me and laugh their ass off? Or was that just because they were bored?
Either way, I hate those bastards!
