The Impossible Quiz

Monday, August 27th, 2007

Yeaah! I did it!!!

I have solved the Impossible Quiz

Impossible Quiz

I needed a lot more than 100 tries till I got it. But finally I mastered these 110 levels!

Especially the last 10 “epic” levels are extremely hard to solve because with every mistake you will loose immediately and you can start at level one again.
So, after reaching the level 100 I started to hate this game. But I found a solution… Axife Mouse Recorder Demo v.5.01
I Recorded the whole game till level 100 (btw: 5′00” :-D ) and solved the last 10. There was only one little problem with this game; sometimes the timing did not work out and I had to start over again.

Finally after reaching the last level I found out that you have to use all 7 skips to finish it. So I had to do it all over again because I used the skips for the levels which endured so long ;-)

Now I will go to bed and enjoy my well-earned sleep :-)

Ps: Yes, I admit… I have spoiled a few times. But believe me some quizzes are really hard or even have an arbitrary solution.

C++ Refactoring Plug-in for CDT: Milestone 2 released

Monday, August 27th, 2007

Only 10 days after the first release (blogged by misto) we are ready to announce our second release.

Main improvements are:

  1. Performance: Creating the dynamic proxies for the comments is now based on the file locations. Only files in the workspace will be commented
  2. User Feedback during Refactoring initialisation: The user will see right from the start of a Refactoring a progress bar which could be cancelled.
  3. A few Bug fixes.

Feel free to open new tickets and to help to improve our plug-in.
Thanks in advance!

Post 2.0

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

Yesterday, while reading the newspaper (20min) I found the following subtitle Terror 2.0.

First, I thought that Web 2.0 was only a Buzzword for all wannebe’s to talk about. After a while I accepted the Web 2.0 because it associated at least several technologies and was a “little bit” more than only marketing. Definition of Web 2.0
But the downside of this trend is that several marketing guys take benefit of it.

A few examples:

  1. Bürgerkommunikation 2.0
  2. Vertrauen 2.0
  3. Zukunft 2.0 (At least an articel over web 2.0)

Sorry, for all the German words an links, but it seems that this 2.0 stuff might be a “regional” problem.

I don’t know why people (marketing or whatever) do such things? At least it worked a little bit because I blogged about it. For God’s sake not many read my blog :-D

Right now I would hate myself if I had to release a Software with the Version 2.0 I would rather stay on 1.xy or jump right to Version 3.0 :-)

Getting older

Monday, August 20th, 2007

Is it just imagination or am I getting older?
Of course I get older… but I did not mean the whole numbering, date and birthday stuff but the feeling and the recovery after an extensive weekend.
Although I slept more than 8 hours each night, I did not feel fit. Certainly I drank alcohol this weekend but not more than usual.
Especially because this weekend was not even so exhausting I am wondering why I had so a hard time to getting started on Monday morning!

Okey, it is the Monday morning… no worries… No, it is not only that! I like my job and get up early is not a problem… normally.
I really believe, that my body used to have a greater tolerance of drinking alcohol and staying up all night. Or maybe it is just the memory of the good old times when everything was better… even the recovery after a party ;-)

After all one thing I know for sure: I have some grey hairs, and their number will not decrease in the future…

so long happy Monday :-D

Design-Gene

Something I don’t have: the design-gene

Therefore the change of my blog layout was a big challenge for me.
So instead of doing everything by myself I searched for a suitable theme on the internet.
Finally I found this theme you are looking at on Wordpress Themes.
The installation was very easy: copy it on the server in the right folder and activat it.

To put at least a little bit of personal touch into my blog a placed my Bike in the header ;-)

Oopsla 2007, Montreal

Wednesday, August 15th, 2007

We the IFS handed three posters in for the Oopsla in this autumn. One for C++ Refactoring support for the Eclipse CDT another for Ruby Refactoring support for Eclipse RDT and a third for Green Bar for C++ (CUTE). All are project we are currently working at.

All three Posters got accepted by the Poster Committee. So somebody has to stand by the posters to explain and discuss our work. For that reason Sommerlad needed some assistance.

Today my boss Peter Sommerlad made THE decision. Both Emanuel and I can go to the Oopsla 2007 in Montreal, Canada.
I am really looking forward to this happening.

Oopsla we are coming…

Hello world!

Saturday, August 11th, 2007

Yeah, my own blog…
From now on I will write about the all-day insanity of the normal life or about some other “boring” stuff ;-).

But why did I start a blog like everybody else in the internet community?

I intend to do a master degree in America. For that I have to hand in an application at the university which includes the results of the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language). Right now I am in the middle of my preparation for the TOEFL. The key point is to improve my English to get a good score. I noticed that the weakest point in my English use is the writing. The bottom line is that I have to write more. That is the reason for publishing some writings from time to time. Whether it really will improve my English is unknown but at least I hope so ;-)

If you have any corrections or suggestions for my English use do not hesitate and write a comment or contact me per e-mail. I am happy about any feedback.

I wish you a good start into the new week tomorrow.
