St. Patrick’s day @ UBS

As many might know, I am working in the biggest trading floor of the world. But what most people won’t know is that UBS has an interesting tradition on St. Patrick’s day. This afternoon around 4 o’clock a group of bagpipe players walked onto the balcony of the trading floor and played some music for the 1400 people :-)

How loud is it to work in such a big floor?

Obviously, there is constant noise. But surprisingly, it is no that loud. I guess they designed the room to swallow noise.
Another thing which I noticed is that many people are constantly talking and therefore there is not one distracting noise. It is more like a group of people is mumbling. It would be interesting to have a Db measurement device.
